Yoga Nidra is a deeply healing, and restorative practice. It goes DEEP. You are led by the voice of your instructor into a meditative and calm state, all the while remaining alert and awake. If you do fall asleep you will still recieve all the great benefits of this wonderful practice.
Many of us, for one reason or another (such as injury and/or illnes) are unable to, or are not drawn to doing the ‘usual active’ seated practices of yoga and/or meditation. The idea of training our bodies in the art of Yoga Nidra can be a great alternative, or addition to any practice, particularly when we are tired, tense and in need of rejuvenation. Yoga Nidra can be used as a great counter balance to the 'busyness' of our lives.
Yoga Nidra can be practiced seated in a chair or lying on the floor.
Classes will resume in 2018. We will have 1 class per block on a Saturday morning. These classes are 50 minutes in length and you can use as few or as many bolsters, blankets, and pillows as you need to be comfy. We have a good supply of props in the studio.
